Torreya taxifoha a type of evergreen tree in Florida is extincting and reading suggest three strategies to avoiding this. In the lecture professor refute effectiveness of these strategies.
First, author says by cultivating this tree in coolest and dampest micro climate zone they will be conserved. In the lecture professor express today micro climate has been drying because of affect of original weather. She says because of global warming larger region climate affected micro climate.
Second, reading says by assisted migration mean by taking this three to a far region with cooler weather it survive better. In the lecture professor disagrees and says this strategy has been done for another specie already but unpredictable negative results have been earn. Professor expresses by assisted migration of a specie other planet and trees in new environment that themselves are in danger of extinction may be extinct.
Third, reading claim by create a cultivate environment for thriving this tree scientist can monitoring all condition there and preserve this specie. In the lecture professor says if a tree want to survive in a environment their population should be more which research center has not capacity for cultivated a large population of them.
