The professor and the author mainly talk about three ways to save Torreya tree from extinction. The lecturer states that three ideas made in the reading passage is not tight way to protect this tree so she refutes. The following three points made in the lecture support her opinion.

First ao all, Torreya taxifoha which is a type of tree very common back in the days in Florida usually foster in the place such as dampest and coolest. The professor mentions that reestablish in the same location is not good idea. Because, the North part of Florida where the trees used to grow up become drier and drier cause by global warming. Therefore, there is not suitable environment for trees.

Second, the author claims that moving them to different place is one of the option to conserve however the speaker disagrees with that opinion. Once, human tried to save Black-lotus, people took them to another place but this species killed original plants in the forest. There is a possibility that unpredicted things are happening thus the lecturer denied the idea made by the author.

Lastly, the third option was preserving trees in research center however the professor has shown her opinion for this. The speaker tells that Torreya trees exist with other plants in a large population and diversity community. Hence, if they were not surrounded by currently species, they will get disease and simply it is not capable to survive.

All of considered, the professor refutes the main idea made in the reading passage.
