TPO-19 - Integrated Writing Task Many consumers ignore commercial advertisements. In response, advertising companies have started using a new tactic, called “buzzing." The advertisers hire people, buzzers, who personally promote (buzz) products to people

The reading and lecture both are about new advertising strategy called buzzing. The lecture proposes benefits of buzzing to the consumers. Whereas, reading passage is against the buzzing.

First of all, according to the lecturer, buzzers are compelled to tell the truth. They get paid because they have used the product and really liked it. They don't have to manipulate just to impress the consumers. On the contrary, the passage states that buzzing may provide some misinformation regarding the buzzed product.

Second, the speaker points out that many people don't believe regarding the advantages of buzzed products. As they know buzzer as a user of product; they tend to ask numerous questions regarding the product. This information couldn't have been available by just viewing the advertisement on television. Thus buzzers help the consumers and clear each and every doubt regarding the product. On the other hand, the writer believes that consumers blindly believe the claims made by buzzers without any doubts as they aren't aware of buzzers. Additionally, they won't crosscheck the information provided by buzzers as they will do in case of advertisements.

Finally, the orator argues that the advertisement companies won't hire buzzers if the product is not upto mark. This will establish trust between buzzers and their friends as they buzz the product they are buzzing really liked and used by them. The reading material refutes to this idea. It states that buzzers are not trustworthy and buzzing may ruin social relationships.
