TOEFL T P O 20 Integrated Writing Task

Both reading and lecture discuss a policy, advantages and disadvantages of the policy that it was 'let in burn'. The author claims that three kinds of damage caused by the "let it burn" policy were emphasized by critics of the policy and provides three reasons of support. The professor states that this is an accident in the ecological cycle, and it was creative in the scale of yellow stone, and refutes each reason.
First, the author explains that Yellowstone fires caused huge damage to the park's trees and other vegetation. The speaker contends this idea and states In this area, new plants grow and become diverse. The plant that could not grow and was destroyed by fire is germinated by the new smaller plants and seeds of certain plants at a high level; thus, trees and vegetation would be retrieved.
Second, the article states that the park wildlife was affected as well, and large animals were seen fleeing the fire. The professor opposes this point by saying that the animals were recovered and there is a new opportunity to live them. This happening provides ideal habitat for a certain animal-like rabbit and provides certain foods for these animals. New animals came back due to new habitats and living conditions.
Third, the passage claims that the fires compromised the park's value as a tourist attraction and had negative consequences for the local economy. The lecturer rejects this view and states that if the fire happened every year, this idea could be true, but because of rainfall and strong wind, fires were massive and yellow stone visitors came back each year after this event.
