TPO-33 - Independent Writing Task Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? When teachers assign projects on which students must work together, the students learn much more effectively than when they are asked to work alone on projects.

There are different ways for students to work on assigned projects. Some teachers prefer their students to work individually claiming that they are able to finish work earlier. Other teachers prefer their students to work in groups. Although both of these work tactics are beneficial. In my vantage point, I am more inclined with the latter tactic because of several reasons.

First working in groups enhances the ability of students to express their emotions. Many students hold different views about certain topics however, they are unable to express their emotions clearly either because of poor communication skills, or because they are shy to express their thoughts to the public. Enrolling in group work activities make students more talkative and able to express their ideas thoughtfully. For instance, during my education at the university, I had a case presentation course. The objective of this course was to make students discuss a certain disease, and at the end of the course to present the information on slides as a power point presentation. excitedly, the students participated in the course. and After completing it, I was able to communicated clearly with my colleagues. It was a great experience that I must admit have benefit a lot from it. The course helped to thrive in my first job, and be praised by my supervisors.

Secondly, working in groups help students to be more creative. Many students are unable to come out with new ideas when they think on their own. Working in groups help students to brain storm, and be more creative. On the other hand, working individually does not allow students to learn from the experiences of others. For instance, I have participated in several group meeting with my instructor about ways to protect the environment. Surely, group work was one of the main reasons which helped me to come out with new ideas to maintain a clean environment.

Although the aforementioned reasons are the first to come to my mind, they are by no means the only reason available. In fact, there is another subtle reason that is worth to be mentioned, which is the noteworthy, refreshingly, intelligibly study published in the school academy journal last year, which showed that students learning in groups are more productive and are able to learn faster than their peers who study individually. The study was conducted on 120 student from different schools to prevent bias.

To sum up, contemplating all the aforementioned points make us confident that working in groups is a more professional approach of learning. By giving the students the opportunity to work in groups, we don't only provide students with educational foundation, but we enhance their chances to succeed in the future.
