The reading discusses that plenty of birds are harmed every year when they try to fly through glass windows. Hence, the author listed three solutions to prevent this problem. However, the narrator of the lecture finds all the solutions dubious and presents some evidence to refute all of them.

First, the author points out that by replacing the regular, clear glass with one-way glass they can solve this problem. Because, this glass is transparent only in one direction. In contrast, the professor states that this glass reflects the light like a mirror and the birds do not have any comprehension about the mirror so due to the fact that the picture of the sky is displayed in it, they go through the glass.

Furthermore, the author mentioned that colorful design probably prevents this problem. In fact, by showing the colorful lines and other designs on regular windows glass the risk of collision of birds deceased. On the other hand, the speaker casts doubt on this issue by standing that these designs conclude opening, as a result, the birds try to fly through it. In conclusion, if they make these holes small, the inside of the building will become dark for people who are working there and if they are big, the birds go through it.

Last but not least, the reading passage proposes another solution could be creating ab artificial magnetic field. On the contrary, in direct contradiction to the reading passage, the lecturer claims that it is true that birds use magnetic earth but they do not do it in this condition. He provides examples to clarify it more. When birds migrate from a cold country to the warm, they use magnetic earth to find their ways for navigation. While for short distance, like going from one part of the city to other parts they use eyes and brightness of the light.
