TPO-52. Integrated Writing Task. Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they challenge the specific points made in the reading passage.

The reading and lecture are both about sending people to asteroids. The author of the reading talks about three advantages of this colonization. These claims are challenged by the lecturer. He is of the opinion that this method is not very practical and has some downsides.
To begin with, the author argues that asteroids are often much smaller than planets, so they have lower gravity. The article mentions that when landing a spaceship, the craft would not be pulled as strongly or as forcefully toward the asteroid's surface. This specific argument is challenged by the lecturer. He notes that although the asteroids have low gravity than Moon or Mars, they can establish come certain risks. Additionally, professor says that people could suffer from health problems such as lowering of bone density and muscle mass.
Secondly, the writer suggests that some asteroids are rich in valuable elements and precious metals that are relatively rare on Earth, such as gold and platinum. In the article, it is said that the colonists or businesses sponsoring them could more than pay for the cost of their support by mining minerals and sending them back to Earth. The lecturer, however, rebuts this by mentioning additional cost of supporting and transforming would be higher and reduce. He elaborates on this by bringing up the point that the prize would not be same in all time.

Finally, the author posits that asteroids are a good option for colonization because some of them would be very easy to reach. Moreover, it is mentioned there are a number of asteroids that periodically come within or near Earth's orbit and some of them actually get closer to Earth than our Moon. In contrast, the professor’s position is that it would not be easy for the asteroids to return from Earth. Furthermore, he says that the asteroid can actually travel farther away from Earth, but it would be challenge for it to get back.
