Some people think that there should be the death penalty for extremely serious crime. Others believe that it is not normally correct to kill criminals.
Everyone making mistakes almost has to take a penalty, and so does the criminals. Some people support death sentence for extremely serious crime, while many consider should not kill offenders. In my opinion, captital punishment is more approriate for the following reasons.
First, death penalty is necessary to deter other criminals. To the average person, the severest punishment on Earth is death. Life is said to be treasured and sacred above everything so no one wants to die. naturally, human beings fear to die. So when they know after committing a serious crime, they have to be received the death sentence, they will reconsider or not dare to break a heinous law. This is why using capital punishment is an effective way to discourage certain crimes in society. For example, in 2017, the Philipines government imposed a capital punishment for serious drug- related offences. As a result, not the rate of drug crime descreased one fifth in this year.
Second, the death penalty is equal to people. People all know actions leads to the corresponding consequences and they should be responsible for their own action. “ An eye for an eye, a tooth for an tooth’ is the old phrase means that wrong done should be a compensating measure of justice. Therefore, any dangerous or violent criminal activies causing this community must pay a price. For example, when a murderer take someone’s life, they have to be sentenced to death to suffer the pain and fear that they brought to another person.
On the other hand, some opponents claim that death penalty is cruel. However, if some other alternative ways such imprisonment, after criminals are released, they still commit crime even more dangerous or more violent.
To sum up, death penalty is an effective way. To let people obey the rule strictly, government should impose the severest law.
