The graph below gives information from Annual Energy Outlook 2008 about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projection until 2030.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given line graphs display the consumption of energy by different types of fuel in USA from 1980 to 2030.

To begin with, data of years between 1980 and 2008 would be investigated. In this period of time, petrol and oil were more conventional and they had the highest amount. Beside this, coal as well as natural gas was used, however other types of fuel such as nuclear, solar/wind, and hydropower were not significant values in the diagram.

The situation in the part of projections of graph is approximately similar to history part. It seems that there would be an increasing in value of petrol and oil dramatically after 2008. Although coal and natural gas would have the equal consumption in years from 2008 to 2020, the predictions show that coal would have greater usage by 2030. Moreover, other categories of fuel wont have extreme variations after 2008.

To sum up with all, we are observing upward trends in U.S. energy consumption from years 1980 to 2030. Whereas the value of hydropower does not change significantly during these years, but there would be a growth in consumption of other types of fuel.
