The line graph illustrates the average amount of money that people spend on cell phone and residential phone services per year over a period of 10 years from 2001 to 2010.

It is clear that the mobile phone services increased dramatically , while the residential phone services declined sharply in 10 years. In 2006, the money spent on cell phone services surpassed the spending on residential phone services.

In 2001, American spent nearly 700$ on residential phone services, compared to over 200$ on cell phone services. In the
next 5 years, although, there was a significant fall, nearly 200$, in the spending for landline services, the cell phone services increased approximately 300$ in their income.

In 2005, people living in America spent the same amount of money on both the cell phone and residential phone services, which is about 500$. The expenditure on cell phone services kept rocketing and was about 800$ in 2010. However, the income of the landline phones services plummeted to a bit over 400$ in the same year.
