The chart below shows a number of men and women in further education in Britain in three period and whether studying part-time or full time.

The bar chart illustrates the quantity of male and female in full-time and part-time further education in three periods (1970/71, 1980/81 and 1990/91) in the UK. Units are measured in thousands people.

Overall, enrollment of female student in secondary education increased over a span of twenty years for full-time and part-time education. In the meantime, admission of full-time male students also raised; whereas, admittence of part-time male students fluctuated.

First, looking at the figures of men in further education, it is obvious that the number of part-time studnets were more than full-time students. The quantity male students in part-time education was approximately 1 million in the period of 1970/71 and the number of full-time was over 100 thousand. However, the amount of male students in part-time education dropped to over 800 thousand in 1980/81 before expended to almost 900 thousand in 1990/91.

Turning to the graph of female students, it is evident that the amount of female student in part-time education increased moderately from less than 800 thousand in 1970/71 to more than 800 thousand in 1980/81. Thereafter, the number boomed to nearly 1.1 million in 1990/91.By contrast, the quantity of full-time students rocketed from less than 100 thousand in 1970/71 to more than 200 in 1980/81. Afterward, it continued a sligh increase in 1990/91.
