The supplied bar graph illustrates the number of marriages and divorces in the USA from 1970 to 2000 while another bar graph demonstrates the percentage of never married, married, divorced and widowed American adult in given two years.
Overall, over the period of 30 years, the number of marriages declined tediously and divorces remained almost constant except slight growth after 10years. Whereas unmarried and divorced adults percentage increased and in opposite widowed and married adults percentage decreased with time.
As can be observed, counts of marriages were exactly 2.5millons in 1970 and 1980 . These numbers fell marginally just below 2.5 million in 1990 and after a period of decade figures further reduced and became 2 million. In contrast, divorces were constant except the year 1980 where number grew approximately up to 1.4 million.
On the other hand, in 1970, 70 percent adult were married and it was gone downward below 60 percent in 2000. Furthermore, the divorced adults were almost negligible in 1970 and rose significantly in 2000 and became 10 percent. Similarly, unmarried adults climbed from 15 to 20 percent and in the contrary widowed decreased mildly accounted around 5 percent.
