The charts below show the number of girls per 100 boys in all levels of education

The graphs compare the number of female students per 100 males in three different levels of education in developed and developing nations in two seperate years 1990 and 2000.

It is clear that the gender differences between boys and girls in industrialised countries were less significant. Additionally, the charts show an overall increase in participation in all education levels.

In 1990, the number of girls in developed countries attended primary school was 93 students, while only 83 of their peers in developing nations went to school. The gap between two types of nations were more considerable in higher levels. The number of females enrolled secondary school in developed countries was 98 girls, compared to just 72 students in developing nations. In addition, the figures for tertiary education girl students in industrialised and developing nations were 66 and 105 respectively.

During 2000, the figure for primary girls in developing nations rose to 87 individuals, where as developed countries' figure had a 3 increase to 96 girls. However, the most dramatic change was occurred in secondary level, where the number of girl students in developing nations increase quickly from 72 to 82 students.
