The first chart shows the results of a survey which sampled a cross-section of 100,000 people asking if they traveled abroad and why they travelled for the period 1994-98. The second chart shows their destinations over the same period.

The presented infographics give information about the reasons and destinations of a hundred thousand British tourists travelled abroad within the period between 1994 and 1998.
During the given period of time the number of UK residents travelled outside of the country increased steadily, except this figure dropped slightly to 21610 in 1995, from 22072 in 1994 to 28828 in 1998. The main reason for travelling was holidays; nearly third of all the tourists travelled abroad. The second and third reasons were business trips and visits to friend and families, respectively.

The table and bar chart provide with information that between 1994 and 1998 the number of British tourists did not rise considerably and the most favorite destination was Western Europe.
