The charts compare the mount of water used for agriculture industrial and households around the world between 1900 and 2000, and water was used in Brazil and Democratic Republic of Congo.

It is clear that the need of water using increased significantly between 1900 and 2000, especially, the much lager used in agriculture. We can also see the water consumption considerably higher in Brazil than in Democratic Republic of Congo.

In 1990, there were about 100 km3 water use in industrial and household around the world while the figure for water use in agriculture was higher about 500 km3. After 100 years later, the water use of agriculture jumped rapidly, almost 3,000 km3. In the same time, the global water use for industrial and domestic were significantly lower than agriculturial water use, at about 1,000 km3 and 500 km3 respectively.

By 2000, the population of brazil more 34 times than Democratic Republic of Congo, at about 176 million and 52 million respectively. With a much larger inhabitans than Congo, Brazil’s water consumption each person was 359 m3 while per person in Congo just a slightly consumable at only 8 m3; those could be explained by irrigate area of Brazil had more 265 times than Congo.
