The graph below shows average carbon dioxide emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The stipulates line chart illustrates the proportion of CO2 emissions per individual in 4 different nations over a period of 5 decades, from 1967 to 2007. The mentioned parameters are UK, Sweden, Italy and Portugal.

It is clear from the diagram that UK and Sweden showed a declining trend in carbon dioxide emissions during the period. United Kingdom's CO2 emissions was very high (11metric tonnes) in 1967. While Sweden's figure was just over 8 million tonnes. At some point (1977) Sweden's emission rate almost touched UK's level, almost 11 metric tonnes. Somehow Sweden managed to reduce this hazardous emission level almost by half compared to their initial figures and achieved their lowest record figurers in 2007, which was 5.5 metric tonnes. Whereas UK only managed to reduce a mere 2.5 metric tonnes over the 5 decades time.

On the other hand, carbon dioxide discharge rate was on the rise in Italy and Portugal over the course of mentioned period. Portugal's 1967 venting rate was very low (1 metric tonne) as compared to their counter parts. while Italy's rate was bit high, just over 4 metric tonnes. Both countries transmission rate was at steady during the last decade from 1997 to 2007, 6.8 metric tonnes and 5.6 metric tonnes respectively.

In conclusion, UK and Sweden managed to reduce their CO2 emission to a certain level. But Sweden achieved a great improvement during the time. whereas other two countries figures were gradually increased without any fluctuations.
