The line graph compares the book consumption of males and females at Burnaby Public Library between 2011 and 2014.

Overall, the number of books read followed an upward trend for both genders. However, the figures for men experienced the more dramatic rise.

In 2011, all women who came to the public library collectively read approximately 4500 books, around twice of the figure for their male counterparts. The following year, growth was observed in both genders, jumping to 8000 books for females, and rising to 4000 books for males.

2013 marked a considerable rise for the total number of books read by men, more than doubling to 10 thousand titles, equaling the equivalent figure for women. The positive momentum of book consumption among male visitors of the library persisted until the end of the period, recording 14 thousand books in 2014. By contrast, in the same year, women read only 8000 books, 2 thousand fewer books compared to the previous year.
