It can be see from the chart that car is by far the most popular vehicle among the 3 types of transport, and travelling by train witnesses an upward trend during the surveyed period.

In 1970, Car was the most chosen vehicle with around 5 million people, followed by bus and train with approximately 4 and 2 million respectively.It was noticeable the number of car and train’s travellers experienced the same upward trend, whereas that number of bus became unpopular and dropped slightly year by year.

It is predicted that people travelling by car will continue to increase from 2020 and reach a peak of nearly 9 million in 2030. Meanwhile, commuters going by train will overtake that figure for bus and reach at around 5 millions, whereas those of bus decreased to 3 millions at the end of the survey.
