The line graph demonstrates employment rates in three sectors of British economy from the year 2000 to 2010.

It can be seen that in this timeframe the employment structure in the United Kingdom experienced a significant change. For instance, from the year 2000 to 2003, the most significant employer of the nation was private sector, which employed 47 per cent of the national labor force in the year 2000. However, private sector’s role started to diminish and in 2003 public sector employed as many people as enterprises did. Later, the share of private sector on labour market continued to shrink and in 2008 self-employed people comprised 28 per cent of British workforce and outstripped the bulk of businesses, which at that moment stood at 26 per cent. In 2010, public sector was the biggest employed 50 per cent of employees in the nation, while the percentage of self-employed and private sector stood at 30 and 20 per cent respectively.

To sum up, it is obvious that public sector in the UK is the most important on labor market.
