In 2003 kiwis were spent major portion of their money on travel and clothes which amounts to 36% and 24% respectively. Whereas in 2013, their interest actually shifted from clothing to film or music with 33% of spending on the same. In 2003 the kiwis least popular items were cloths and film or music.

While 2013 figures showed a completely different trend, after a decade time kiwis total spending pattern was changed although items like travel and entertainment retained their positions just like the previous era but in a reverse manner. Entertainment being the favorite one replacing the travel. Furthermore during 2013 the new Zealanders spent very less on books and cloths.

It is clear from the diagram that over the period of 10 years, New Zealanders buying pattern changed significantly except items like travel and entertainment.
