Dear John,
I would like to apply for 4 weeks’ vacation, as I am planning India visit.
My niece is getting married on March 6th, and as an elder uncle I need to be present in that weeding.
I have joined this team on 1st January 2018, since then I haven't visited my hometown.
I do have sufficient leave balance that I can utilize here.
I was thinking to travel on March 1st and return by March 31st. I was checking air tickets; those are getting booked quickly, if my leaves get approved by this weekend, I will be able to purchase flight tickets on time.

Meanwhile, I have prepared the list of all upcoming projects, that my engagement is expected. I will prepare the knowledge transfer sheet and share with Gaurav. He has agreed to cover me during my absence. I will also discuss with Mick, our client lead, to ensure he is aware about my breaks.
I do understand, I have planned this trip with such short notice, but I also certify that the work timeline won't be delayed.

I am looking forward for your approval, so I can execute my plan.

thank you,
your faithfully,
Shripad Joshi.
