The reading states that there are three ways to save Torreya and provides these three ways. The professor, however, explains that the author' options does not provides satisfactory solutions and refutes each of author's ways.
First, the reading claims that the first way is to reestablish Torreya in the same location in which it thrivd for thousands of years. The professor states that reestablishing them to the northern part of Florida would be unlikely successful. He explains that Torreya needs a cold area and that area has high tempreture. He also mentions that it is dryer than its area.
Second, the reading states that they can move Torreya to an entirely different location.The professor contends this point by saying that human move other trees to different area but they dont enduring new conditions.
Third, the reading states that preserve Torreya in research centers would be another option. The professor refutes this point by saying that there are some problems with this option. He says that not only the population must resist diversity but also there are not enough capacity. The professor, also, mentions that they must capable of surviving long-term disease.
