In 1988, forest fire in Yellowstone national park which is most famous park in the country, In these park, forest fire cover more than 800,000 acres in two months. According to the passage, fire causes the too much negative impacts on the forest and three major effects on the forest such as devastation of the tree and vegetation growths, destroy the wild life and harms the local economy. Whereas, according to the lecture, forest fires are one kind of natural park and it is not harm the forest but good for the animal and some plant species. The professor contradict each points of the reading by presents with valid reasons.
Firstly, the author claims that detrimental effect on the park's tree and vegetation. After the fired yellowstone's land had been scorched. In contrast, the lecturer mentions that fires causes the invites the new plant species. Some plants species not growth in the large tree as result less diversity. For example, small plant need the sun light which is not obtain because of large tree shaded on the small plants. In fact, the forest fire help to seed germinated, an example of the some seeds need the high heat for germination.
Secondly, the passage implies that destroy the food chain causes animal not survive. Large animal such as deer and elk died becuase of fire. However, the speaker explains that plants are recover the lots of animal. For instance, small animal such as rabbits and hates were eat the small plants and small animal prey for large animal. So, foerst fire not destoy the food chains.
Lastly, the reading emphasizes that foerst fire were decrease the tourist attraction and it is bad effect on the local economy. On the contrary, the professor points out that if the forest fire every year happen then decrease the visitor but it is not happen and after this year visitor came back in the next years because not any forest fire.
