The professor casts doubt on this point by saying that healthy yellow cedar is more resistance than other trees since yellow cedar's leaves have powerful chemical matter, which is poisenous for insects. Therefore, cedar bark beetle attack to other trees instead of yellow cedar.
Second, the declining in yellow cedar population may caused by brown bear. This animal claws bark and eat it as diet owing to high sugar content, as the author claims, is repudiated by the lecturer. He mentions that although brown bear hurts to yellow cedar, this animal are not able to over declining. In addition to, yellow cedar population trees have been declining in some places, which brown bear never live in there.
Third, the reading points that gradual changes of climate and temperature hurt to surface roots grwoning system.
