The reading states that the condition on the Mars is not suitable for human presence on it for a long time and provides three reasons to support its claim. However, the lecture states that although standing human permanent presence on Mars is challenging issue, it is impossible.
First, the passage says that the pressure on the earth is 90 times extremer than the earth' pressure since all construction would be crushed. On the contrary, the professor suggests that the astronomers can establish a station which flows in the atmosphere because in the high height the pressure is lower than the surface. So, they can flow on the 50 km height which pressure is normal and equal to earth surface since it is not dangerous for human and equipment and does not crush them.
Second, the reading passage claims that there is not any source of water and oxygen on the Mars and they must be provided from the earth. In contrast, the lecture declares this solution that the atmosphere of Mars is full of chemical components such as carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid. Humans can produce the water and oxygen by this two chemical materials in their station. So, they do not need to bring water for their trip to the Mars.
Third, the reading asserts that the surface of MarS is coverEd by thick clouds which do not let the light recieveS on the surface of Mars. As a result, humans can not produce the require electricity out of sunlight. On the other hand, the lecture states that it is true that the clouds cover the atmosphere of Mars, but this cloud is not thick to prevent the light to through from them. In fact, the considerable amount of light pass through these clouds and reach the surface. Also, the station can use from the reflected and passed lights for producing an enough amount of electricity.
