the reading passage claims that pterosaurs were an ancient group of winged and paleontologists have long wondered whether large pterosaurs were capable of powered flight or they were able only to glide. several argument in the reading passage have been made against powered flight. However, the lecture casts serious doubt on this claim by preseing some counter arguments and examples. she believs that pterosaurs may be capable flight and say several points about capable flight in the paleontologists's body.

firstly, she argues that paleontologists had dense hair that cover their body and hair capable be warm so they need them. additionally hair can maintain body tempreture and this is possitive point. and this possitive situation made energy for them so they can have faster flight. this , However, is contradict to the passage claims that ancient reptiles such as paleontologists were probably cold-blooded as well. cold-blooded animals typically have slow metabolism so they are unable to produce a lot of energy thus powered flight is an activity requiring a lot of energy . it seemed unlikely the paleontologists would have been able to genereted the energy needed to fly.

moreover, it is noted in the reading passage there is a limited to the wight of animals that can be kept airborne by powered flight .paleontologists that were as large as giraffe were probably so heavy. in contrast the lecture clearly state that anatmic's paleontologists were light she says one example in the air borne weight's body reduce.

finally, the speakers points out that take off did not have any problem for these paleontologists on this idea birds use 2 legs for walking and these paleontologists used all legs nevertheless, the text asserts that all animals with powered flight are able to take off from the ground reading pssage noted that on example about bird take off with legs and gain speed but these method would not have worked for large pterosaurs.
