TPO exam 3 integrated writing

The reading casts doubt on the attribution of a painting to the most famous seventeenth-century Dutch painter, Rembrandt. Conversely, the lecturer argues that the painting was painted by Rembrandt.

First, the professor explains an experiment with X-ray that shows some particular changes were made one hundred years later on original painting. He says the luxurious fur collar that writer believes contradicts the cheep white linen cap is added later to increase the value of painting and making more formal portrait.

Second, after the added parts were removed, the original white color cloth that illuminates the whole face appeared. It shows the painting is very realistic and there was no need to put some part of the face in shadow. This contradicts information in the reading.

Finally, the examiners also found extra wooden panel were attached to the original piece to enlarge it. The original wooden panel is single part. Interestingly, the original part is made from the same trees that a self portrait attributed to Rembrandt is made from.

Concluding, via an experiment that allow the real painting to be recognized, the lecturer asserts that factors that writer were mentioned is no longer reliable and the painting is definitely belongs to Rembrandt.
