And explain how you felt about it.

Today I’m gonna tell you about a time when I was very sleepy but had to stay awake.

It was last week when the final exam neared and I had to stay up very late to cram for it. I cut class quite often during the semester, so my mind was just blank. If I didn’t stay awake, I wouldn’t have enough time for revision.

I dropped off several times, and I couldn’t stop yawning. I started to feel dizzy after 3 hours of studying. I decided to splash my face with water and do some gentle exercises such as rotating my neck and stretching my arms. These exercises did help, and I got a bit refreshed soon. Then I had a cup of coffee. It kicked in immediately.

To be honest, I was exhausted then. Cramming for the exam drained all my energy. When the clock struck 3 o’clock, my eyes got very tired and it seemed that I couldn’t take in any more knowledge. A thought of just winging the exam crossed my mind. I was then in two minds between burning the midnight oil and going to sleep.

I was also stressed as I was afraid I might do bad poorly in the exam or even fail it. If that happened, I would be dead meat as my mom would yell at me. She would kick me out of the house and stop giving me monthly allowances. That would be terrible I should have paid attention to the lessons, studied hard.

That’s all I want to say.
