Dear sir,
I am Bhumika Suryavanshi and I am a local resident of Shahibaug area where the development of the existing airport has been proposed by the Gujarat government. I am writing this letter in order to receive a media support from your newspaper to highlight the issues and concerns of local people against these developments.
I would like to explain some brief about our concern behind the discord with the proposed developments. Firstly, if you investigate, you will find there is a school in a vicinity of 3 km area from the existing airport. The increase in the number of flights leads to increase in the frequency of arrival and departure of flights during the day. The increase in noise will not only increase the disturbance to the study of school children, but also causes several listening and concentration related disorders among them in long run. Moreover, the population of this area is quite a high that it is considered as highly dense area for the traffic.So, increase in flight may cause increase in traffic of travellers during the day.
The airport is already well developed and the existing flight frequency are quite enough for the requirement of commutation of Ahmedabad. Hence, I feel this development is unnecessary and reason of damage to the local environment.
I request you to visit the area and take the opinion of local people to take the concern forward to the government.Your timely cooperation will be appreciated.
