The chart below show the population size in two countries in Uk from 1700 to 2000.

The bar chat illustrate the number of residents and the proportion of birth and death in England and Wales in the years between 1700 to 2000.

Overall, there was a significant rise in the population size in the countries given over 4 centuries. While the figures for the second chart appeared to decrease, birth rates were much higher than death rate during period shown.

In 1700, the number of inhabitants in England and Wales was only 5 millions. This number doubled after a century to 10 millions, followed by a significant increase to over 25 millions and 40 millions in the years of 1900 and 2000, respectively.

In terms of birth and death rate in two countries, in the initial stage, the figures for birth and death proportion were 25 and 30 per 1000 people. These numbers peaked in 1800 to nearly 38 and 31 per 1000 people prior to witnessing a free fall in the final stage. The gap between birth and death rate, in contrast, remained relatively stable at 5 per 1000 people until it was about triple of that of previous period when death rate seemed to drop more drastically.
