The charts below give information about USA marriage and divorce rates between 1970 and 2000, and the marital status of adult Americans in two of the years. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

There are two bar charts giving information about USA citizen's matrimonial status in percentage and number.

First bar chart enumerates the marriages and divorces in four decades, from 1970 to 2000, whereas the other provides percentage of adults who married, never married, widowed, or got divorced.

Regarding to the first bar graph, value of marriages starting with 2.5 millions declining gradually from year 1970 to 2000, except in the year 1980 where it remains constant. With further decrement, we have 2.25 million in the year 1990, and finally, the figure drops down to 2 millions in 2000. Comparatively, if we look at divorce bars, we have a prominent steep in the year 1980 ...
