The only way to cut the crime rate is build more prisons and make prison sentences longer. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this ?

In today’s world people are often deplored by the surge in crime rates. There are lot of reciprocal arguments cropping up regarding length of the stay in penal institution and the expansion of their accommodation. In my view point,there are lot of alternatives to be enforced in order to reduce the number of crimes committed.

First of all, corruptions must be categorised based on the severity. Rudimentary antisocial behaviours can be settled without the litigation. For instance, a campaign has been enforced by the Youth Criminal Justice named, the Restorative Justice. In this case, both the offender and the victim are convened by the discussion panel.After hearing their allegations, problems are resolved.Consequently, the number of gangsters entering into the prison go down, thereby availing a chance to get off Scot-free.

In addition, heinous crimes that warrant death penalty, capital punishment must be executed. Saving a culprit’s life is synonymous to killing hundreds of innocent lives. It saves the general populace from the cold-blooded murderers. For example, lot of jailbirds were kept behind the bars for years as the court could not reach its final verdict. As a result the number of criminals leading captive life go up.

Moreover, criminal rehabitation is gaining popularity these days. Delinquents are given education and psychological support inorder to leave behind the past and adapt to the society on releasing. This inturn help to reduce the repeat offenders. According to a survey, 35% of the criminals do not turn up. Jail authorities have been spending dollar 2.9 a year to back up the convicts. This is another remedy to reduce the count.

In a nutshell after analysing all the afore mentioned aspects, I would like to reiterate that, the increasing time Span of imprisonment is not an ideal remedy to decrease the malfeasance. Let us appeal the sovereign authorities to bring fourth valuable measures to counteract the antisocial behaviour.
