The bar chart below shows the results of survey conducted by a personnel department at a major company. The survey was carried out on a 2 groups of workers:those aged from 18- 30 and those aged 45-60 ,and shows factors affecting their work performance.

The bar chart illustrates 10 different factors affecting work performance and their significance percentages for 18-30 and 45-60 years aged people.

Overall, it can be seen that more factors impact 18-30 aged people’s performance than 45-60 aged people’s. For example, a significant majority of workers aged 18-30 assert that personal development has an influence on performance, while only two-fifths of workers aged 45-60 say the same. Similarly, for younger group of people figures of relaxed working environment and promotion prospects are about 80%, whereas for older ones rates are 30% and 50% respectively.

However, there are some factors that have almost equal proportions among both groups. They are: team spirit and money at around 62%, competent boss and job satisfaction at 50%, and work environment at 25%. there is an exceptional factor. Nearly half of the 45-60 aged workers consider respect from colleagues as a factor affecting work performance, which is 5% greater than 18-30 aged workers’ figure.
