A few people believe that International news should be taught to college students while the remaining people think it is a waste of time. As globalization is at its peak keeping updates on international affairs is becoming a need. In my opinion, students must be aware of what is happening around the world in a positive way.
Firstly, learning international affairs in colleges is a need for the current education system. It helps children nurture their knowledge about globalization and later they can decide if they would like to pursue their career in this field or not. Secondly, being known about the current situation of the world, they might help society with a positive contribution later in their life. For example, global warming is an issue of great importance; students can be compelled to have prosocial behavior towards society thus nation. Therefore, it is important for students that their teachers should teach them effectively so students can be influenced.
On the other hand, the majority of people do not support this notion of teaching international news in college. According to them, it can be a nuisance as often brutal news and stories lead them to wrongful doings. Furthermore, exposing students to international stories can be a myriad of burdens and it can be harsh as well. It is said that modern studies are getting tougher day by day and adding this course can lead the education system to a serious failure. Therefore, students should only focus on their main steam modules where they can later establish their career selectively.
In conclusion, at present time, wrong information is spreading through social media and news like wildfire, teachers should teach in a relevant manner that helps students positively.
