The bar graph illustrates the proportion of unemployment, which categorized by gender, among 20 and 24-year-old graduates in an Europe nation during 2008-2009 period

In general, the unemployment rates among men is constantly greater than that of women. On the other hand, the figure for graduates who out of work of both gender witnessed an oscillation

As demonstrated in the chart, the highest graduate unemployment rates can be recorded at the male chart in October 2009 at approximately 23%, nearly double when compared to that of female (14%) at the same date. It followed by the figures of 16% male bachelors without gainful employment at the same month but a year earlier. It can be said that October of both years marked the most significant gender difference

In terms of the fluctuation of unemploymet rates in the period shown, the April and July 2008 experienced a plateau in proportion of jobless male as well as female bachelors, at around 8% and 6% respectively. Interestingly, this stablization took place again in January and April 2009 but this time only the rates of unoccupied male graduates maintained the same level at 12% as that of female graduates plunged dramatically from 9% to 6%
