The bar chart highlights the average class's number of student in elementary schools and middle schools in six different nations, and contrasts these figures with the world standard.

From the data in the above graph, it is apparent that Asian countries (South Korea, Japan) had a medium population of pupils per classroom higher than ones in Western areas. In addition, the proportion of students in Iceland was the lowest among the 7 surveyed subjects.

Looking at the details, in 2006, South Korea, Japan and UK all had larger primary school classes when compared to the world median. South Korea had the highest percentage of students, around 35 people who were from 5 to 11 years old per class. A class in elementary schools in Japan and the UK had between 25 and 30 pupils. On the other hand, the opposite was true for Denmark, Mexico and Iceland, all three countries had smaller primary school sizes than the world average, at 24, 20 and 21 respectively.

With regards to lower secondary school, South Korea, Japan and Mexico had the number of middle school children per class bigger than the figure of the world, around an average of 34 members. Meanwhile, In the UK, Denmark and Iceland, students attended middle schools at 16, 21 and 20 sequentially which was lower than the global average
