Bar chart shows contribution of two industries, namely, information technology and services, to the economy of the UK as percentage of GDP from 1992 to 2000. Overall, IT always contributed the country’s GDP than did the service; although, both of their contribution increased over the 9 years, domestic production of IT witnessed a dramatic rise compared to the other.
In 1992, technology enterprise started at just above 6 and ended the graph period at around 15, which was more than double the value of starting year, whereas, the selling prices of services exactly doubled jumping from 4 to 8 in 1992 and 2000 respectively. Both businesses stayed stable from 1994 to 1996, when IT was at around 8 and services were at almost 5.
In terms of increase rate, the most critical period for technology was 1996 to 1998, where GDP rose by one third from just below 8 to 12. However, service market demonstrated a small increase from around 7 to just below 8 in 1996 and 1998 respectively.
