The diagram illustrates the manufacturing process of cement by various machines and production of concrete for construction.
Overall, cement production includes five steps i.e. crushing, mixing, heating, grinding and packing. The cement is then mixed with other construction materials to produce concrete.
To begin, limestone and clay, which are two basic constituents of cement, are converted into powder form by using a crusher. This fine product is then passed through a mixer to ensure through mixing of both constituents. Following this, a rotating machine is implanted with a heater that heats the mixture completely while rotating it. The next step is grinding that includes refining the mixture through a grinder and converting it into cement. Finally, the cement is packed into bags and is ready to use.
To make concrete, 10% of cement is mixed with other building materials in a concrete mixer. While an accurate proportion of each constituent is used, half of this contains gravel. Moreover, 10% water and 25% sand is also added into it. The mixer rotates continuosly to mix this amalgam and produce concrete.
