Overall, Blu-ray and DVD sales showed an upward trend over the period. Whereas the rentals and VHS sales experienced a downward trend.
From the beginning of the period, the rentals started with the highest quantity of 200.000. Thereafter, it witnessed a gradual decline from approximately 200.000 record to 500.000 record. Meanwhile, the number of DVDs sale rose steadily from nearly 50.000 to 200.000 in 2005. Over the next year, it declined slightly until the last period with the same figure in 2005. Correlate with the rentals, VHS sales format began with 80.000 number, then it underwent a slight fall and totally disappeared in 2006. By the following year, a new film format named Blu-ray was available with a modest number of nearly 10.000. Subsequently, it grew minimally to more than 10.000 quantity by the end of the period.
It can clearly seen that in 2004 DVD sales overtook the rentals and DHS format in 2003 and 2004 by order. It finished with the same record as the rentals began with.
