The bar chart compares data on five most famous types of mobile phone sold in the world from 2009 to 2013.
Overall, there were upward trends in the number of brands namely Samsung, Apple and ZTE, but the contrasting trends happened to the two other brands (Nokia and LG). It can be seen that Samsung and Nokia were the two most popular types among users during the period.
In 2009, the number of Nokia phones sold worldwide was about 450 million, which was the highest number in five brands. However, it decreased slightly to over 400 million in 2011 before sharply falling to only around 250 million in the end of the period. The similar trend can be seen for LG, the figure for it was about 150 million in 2009, but then dropped gradually by 100 million by the year 2013.
Turning to the remaining brands, around 250 million Samsung phones sold in 2009, which was higher than the other brands in the same year, except for Nokia. This figure then rose dramatically by about 100 million every 2 years and reached the peak of around 450 million by 2013. Specially, in 2009, users bought Apple phones least, but the growth of this brand was significant during 4 years, it increased about sixfold compared to the first year shown. The number of ZTE phone sold in the world also climbed slightly druring the years, to approximately over 50 million in 2013.
