The chart below shows the percentage of male and female teachers in six different types of educational setting in the UK in 2010.
The bar chart illustrates the proportion of teachers, divided by gender, in six levels of educational system in the UK in the year of 2010.
At the first glance, it is clear that the proportion of women teaching at Nursery and Primary school was greatest, while the similar pattern was seen in those of male teachers.
There were over 90% of female teachers at Pre-school and Primary school, compared to about 55% of women in Secondary school. Men did not well-liked in the first three low levels, which was particularly low, with below 10% at Nursery and Primary school. In college, both male and female teachers shared the same figure, with a half for each.
Turning to the two remaining levels, men were dominant over women. About 56% of teachers at Private training institute were male. Similarly, the percentage of women teaching at University were by far lower than that of men, with about 30%.
