The chart shows how frequently people in the USA ate fast food in restaurants between 2003 and 2013.
The given diagram illustrates the number of times US residents frequented to fast food establishments in the period of 10 years from 2003 to 2013.
It is evident that Americans tended to show up at these eateries one to four times a month and this eating trend has been losing its popularity years after years.
As can be seen from the chart, in 2003, the figure for US people consuming fast food weekly was over 30% before rising about 3% in the middle of the period and then dropped to nearly 25% at the end. Meanwhile, the proportion of patrons visiting fast food franchises around once or twice a month was only 25% in 2006, less than 5% and about 7% compared to 2003 and 2013 respectively. The frequency for those eating convenience food daily was under 5% throughout the given time, while that for several times a week and a few times a years were 3 to 4 times higher.
Looking at the graph in more detail, in the second half of the period, the percentage of individuals eating fast food from one to six times a week decreased about 5% both, whereas about 8% of the surveyed people altered their routine of eating fast food to once or twice a month and this habit became the most prevalent among Americans.
