The bar charts demonstrate the proportion of people in two age groups who bought concert, cinema and theatre tickets online in the first three months of 2006 in three different countries, namely Australia, Great Britain and Malaysia, as well as the percentage of internet access via Desktop computer, Laptop and Mobile phone in these countries.
It is obvious from the data that the middle age group was the major group of purchasing tickets and the most buying online tickets by internet was Malaysia in all devices.
More than half of these countries, in fact 2 out of 3, had the majority of ticket sales from people who had aged between 25 and 44 years old. In Australia and UK, the buying rate of people in this group was equal at 55% while the senior citizen (over 65 years old) accounted for 45% of sales in Australia and 40% in UK. However, the senior group in Malaysia purchased online tickets, at 40% of sales, more than that of middle age group by 3%.
A notable feature is that the access of internet for buying tickets via Desktop computer was the most percentage in all countries. Malaysia had the highest internet access at 63% and followed by Great Britain and Australia at 60% and 57% respectively. A similar pattern was repeated in Mobile phone. The difference is that there was a 28% in the entering of internet in Malaysia whereas the UK was less than that about 5% and 6% for Australia. For internet access by Laptop, the least access was the UK at 30% and the others were around 40%.
