The given bar chart gives information about the main reasons for travelling purpose in the US in the year 2009. Meanwhile, the pie chart illustrates different problems related to travelling public.
Overall, it is obvious that the US people mainly travelled for commuting to the workplaces. In addition, increasing the price of travel was the most prominent issue due to public transportation.
According to the data based on the chart, reasons explaining for moving purpose were divided into 5 separate groups. To be specific, the majority of citizens in the US went out with a view to working, accounting for nearly a half of the total. Besides, personal reasons, shopping and social/recreation purposes were responsible for lower proportions of travelling purpose, with 19%, 16% and 10%, respectively. It can also be seen that people did not have a tendency to visit their friends and relatives' houses, with the figure was only 6% of the total.
Furthermore, there were numerous issues resulting from travelling public. This phenomenon mainly associated with the rise in the expenditure on travel, with 36%, followed by current safety concerns and aggressive drivers, with 19% for the former and 17% for the latter. While US people were relatively afraid of highway congestion, accounting for 14% of the total, some problems involving the convenience to public transport and space for pedestrians seemed to be not act as deterrents for using public infrastructure in the US, only took up 8% and 6% respectively.
