The diagram illustrates the process of generating electricity in a hydroelectric power station.
Overall, the process includes four main stages beginning with storing water by the dam and ending as water is pumped back the dam.
The process commences with halting the flow of water in the rivers by a dam in order to store water in a high-level reservoir, after which a certain amount of water then is allowed to flow into the generator through a pipe during the daytime. In the second stage, the flow of water which moves into the generator enables the turbines to swing and results in producing power lines. The flow of water then continues to flow to a low-level reservoir.
The process is continued when previously produced power lines are drawn into the national grid. In the final stage, a new circulation of the process is carried out as water from the low-level reservoir is pumped back into the high-level reservoir in the night shift and a new process is begun.
