The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.
The first process illustrates how cement is manufactured as well as the ingredient needed; whereas the second one shows stages to produce concrete from cement.
Overall, it is clear that there 6 stages to produce cement, beginning with a mixture of limestone and clay and finishing with packaged cement. Additionally, concrete is made by 4 primary elements.
In order to produce cement, limestone and clay are crushed in a crusher, then the powder is mixed carefully before going to a rotating heater. In this stage, the mixture is heated by a fire while being rotated in the heater. The product then being ground in order to become cement. Finally, cement is packed and ready for delivery.
Meanwhile, concrete which is used for construction is produced by 4 elements, namely 15% cement, 10% water, 25% sand, and 50% gravel (small stones). The compound is then mixed in a big mixer before being used as concrete.
