The pie charts illustrates the different ways though which power is used in a regular Australian family and the amount of greenhouse gases emitted as a result of this energy use.
Overall, an avergare family in Australia used most of their power for heating purposes. Furthermore, it is clearly seen that, water heating and other appliances emitted the highest amount of greenhouse gas.
To begin, Although 42% of energy was used for heating purposes, it only emitted 15% of greenhouse gas. The proportion of energy used for water heating was almost similar to it's greenhouse gas emission(30% and 32%). Only 7% of energy was used for refrigeration, however; it emitted 15% of greenhouse gases.
Secondly, 4% of the power was used for lighting and it emitted 8% of greenhouse gas. Other appliances produced 28% of greenhouse gases from 15% of energy consumption. Finally, in the case of cooling, energy usage and greenhouse gas emission were almost similar, at 2% and 3%, respectively.
