The following chart shows the percentages of favorite pastime activities of children in some Asian and African countries.
The bar chart gives information about the rate of children's pastime activities, Computer games, Reading, Board games, and Watching T.V., in Malaysia, China, Nigeria, and Sudan.
Overall, percentages of preferred activities follow similar patterns in all countries whereby the order is the same, computer gaming is the most popular, followed by watching T.V. then board games, and lastly reading.
In more detail, half of all children in Malaysia and Sudan prefer to play computer games in their free time, and similarly, 40% of children in China and 60% of children in Nigeria like to do the same, making this the most popular pastime activity. In addition, it is noticeable that Watching T.V., as the second most preferred activity, has the same proportion in the four countries where roughly a third of children like to do this in their spare time. Next, playing board games accounts for the same proportion of children as watching TV in Sudan, at roughly one-third, while a quarter of children like this activity in China and Malaysia and one-fifth in Nigeria. In summary, Computer games seem to dominate as the favorite of children regardless of country or continent, and reading is the least favorite
