1920 and 2000.

The fluctuation in birth percentages in the US and China during 1920-2000 has been shown in the image above.
The first impression is that over these 80 years, both countries witnessed a downward trend. However, at different times in that history phase, one’s figure outperformed the other.
More specifically, despite the subtle change between 1920 to 1943, the rate in America was always above the 10% point. A common trait shared by two places could be observed is the rather dramatic drop in about 10 years after 1938. Right after that followed a significant increase which was the biggest improvement in the whole graph. Since that phase onward, the USA and China’s percentages decreased stably over time until the end.
Furthermore, there are two intriguing spots that need to be pointed out. First is the US’s number almost remained the same which was at 12% from 1963 to 1969. Interestingly, China also had a similar tendency at 5% and this event occurred during the 1942-1948 period.
