Drinking habits by age (US)

The bar graph compares the four drinking habits of people living in the America. The study is expressed in percentage and is categorized according to age.

Generally, a large proportion of people across all ages never drinks alcohol while a few of them are heavy drinkers. It is also clear that those who are ex-drinkers and non-drinkers are almost equally divided for ages 65 to 74.

Those who do not drink between ages 16 to 24 and 35 to 44 share the same percentage at 60 % which is 5 % higher than those who are 25 to 34 and 45 to 54 years old. Similar rates are also see with for ex-drinkers at just below 10 % for age groups 16 to 24 and 45 to 54, and 5 % for 25 to 34 and 35 to 44. Ex-drinkers and non-drinkers who are 65 to 74 years old have about 40 %.

Americans who occasionally drink are 30 % for 25 to 34 years old while 25 % is noted for 16 to 24 years old. About 20 % is noted for 35 to 44 and 45 to 54 years old while age groups 55 to 64 and 65 to 75 have about 25 % when combined. Heavy drinkers accounts to a rate of around 5% to 15 % for all ages.
